Jessica is skilled bilingual public speaker, on-air talent, voiceover artist and mass communications consultant.

She has over 10 years varied experience as a journalist, public affairs, marketing and public relations professional.

As a multiplatform journalist, she has covered a large variety of stories from presidential elections to hurricanes and has interview prominent personalities in the world of politics, public affairs, healthcare, and entertainment via varied platforms including radio, television, print and web publishing.

Jessica won the Excellence in Media Award from the North Carolina Mental Health Association for her coverage of mental health issues within the Hispanic Community in 2006, she was named the Latin American Women’s Club’s Professional Woman of the Year in 2005 and was one of 25 women recognized as a 2005 Triangle Business Journal Business Women of the Year honoree for her dynamic leadership in the workplace and in the community.

Ms. Coscia started her professional career handling press, media relations and events for U.S. Representative Bob Etheridge. She also served as legislative liaison to the Hispanic community, developing the first Latino Advisory Committee for North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District and handling casework related to Department of State and U.S. Citizenship & Immigration inquiries.

Fully bi-lingual, in both Spanish and English, she was soon tapped by NBC 17 (WNCN) political correspondent to act as Viva Carolina co-host, a Spanish and English language news magazine targeting local Hispanic audiences.

Soon, she was making history as the first Nightly News Anchor, field reporter and news magazine co-host for North Carolina’s first exciting Spanish-language television station, Univision 40 (WUVC). Additionally, as Communications & Community Affairs Director for the WUVC she maintained relationships between the station and the community. She hosted and produced the weekly public affairs program Enfoque Latino, managed, produced, scheduled and executed the station’s services and programming (e.g., PSA’s, public affairs programs, campaigns, and events), and produced a segment on childhood obesity and diabetes for Univision Network’s Salud Es Vida Enterate quarterly health special that won the NC affiliate station national coverage.

Most recently, Jessica worked with NBC 17 (WNCN) where she worked on the launch team for the station’s hyper local user-generated content web channel, MyNC.com. There she conducted preliminary research station’s community partnerships, conducted weekly citizen journalist and videography trainings, managed and contributed online news content, as well as, coordinated community outreach and social media efforts for MyNC.com.

Currently, Ms. Coscia uses her varied background and expertise in news, media, lifestyles, community and culture to help others shine in the spotlight by acting as their spokesperson, consultant or by conducting media training to help them maximize the promotional power of interviews with the media.

Jessica is regularly called upon to develop overall public affairs, advertising and media relations objectives for domestic and international clients. She uses viral marketing, broadcast, social and interactive media to develop targeted marketing campaigns, facilitate collaborative work and effectively communicate on behalf of clients across the U.S. and internationally.

As part of her work, she is also regularly called upon as mistress of ceremonies, on-stage interviewer, public speaker, voiceover talent and on-air correspondent.

Ms. Jessica Coscia holds a B.A. in Mass Communications/Journalism with a minor in Spanish/Latin American Studies from Peace College.
